How come Dragon Quest IX is on there twice? Either way, it's no secret that the Japanese really couldn't care less about the It's sold well recently there, but quite frankly, a new Tales game will do that in Japan. And on a personal note, I'm starting to not care about the as well.
My roommates new just red-ringed on us for the 3rd time since the start of the school year and Microsoft wants us to pay for it. What a joke of a console. I'm sorry to hear that, dude. The has a great games selection, but it's a shame the system has so many reliability issues.
One of the those "Dragon Quest IX"s must be a misspell. I bet its the 5th place one. Wow, last remnant for has fallen off the to 15 leaving SO4 as their only hope. I have a feeling if SO4 was for PS3 is cud be even higher on that lis. I mean look at Last Remnant PS Yakuza is a fun series and Valkyria Chonicles is excellent! All in all, a good sign for Sony Don't worry yourself too much. When all SE games on the flop in japan they will come back to their senses and crowl back to the console brand that helped make them who and what they are now.
I dont see that happening Kush. They might go back to Sony but they wont go back to Nintendo and anyone but a fanboy knows that it was Nintendo that got them to where they are today.. Sony wasnt even around for them to put the first Final Fantasy on and if you know anything about Sqaure you'd know that it was meant to be their last game but thanks to NEs they were still around to run to Sony.
While Nintendo definitely got Sqaresoft off the ground in it's early days, until FF7 they had not broken through in any market but Japan. FF6, while I think a superior game to 7, never broke a million sells in the US. FF7 on the otherhand obviously did, and is undeniably the reason Squenix is one of the biggest video game companies in the world. So stating that Square owes more to Nintendo or Sony, either way, doesn't work. Nintendo screwed over Square, somewhat, by not releasing the N64 in CD format, and Sony has never done something similar.
However, Squenix is not the same company as in the past and their games in the last few years have proven that. Sony have kind of just been laughing to them selves as these second rate RPG's for the are released and then after they release new software and get the natural hardware spike they claim Japan as their own As soon as Naruto comes out and the rest start releasing I've heard that crap all before when your not in 3RD place come back.
Until then xbox is still kicking ass. I don't understand how Sony fell in regards to the RPG market. In fact this generation of systems has been lacking RPG's period. I do feel Sony has the best RPG on the market today though. I wouldn't consider Folklore a full on RPG.. Sony needs to start prepping the WKC ads in Japan from early In the last top 15 ranking, WKC was 15th. Yakuza 3 10th, I guess the Japanese miss Shenmue. Oh man, I need Shenmue 3 sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad I will even buy it for the Wii, I dont care.
This third and final installment in the Budokai Tenkaichi series was on the PS2 and Wii, but seemed to have worn out its welcome a bit. What sets the Enix-published game apart, however is in the way you control your robot. Instead of sitting in a cockpit or having a dynamic third-person perspective, you have remote control from the point of view of a human character on the ground.
This requires you to strategically position your human character and obviously creates a rather unique gameplay element that earned the game a place in our PS2 Hidden Gems guide.
Apparently collectors approve the remake as it has been climbing the charts on this PS2 list while the PS1 original is still significantly cheaper. Much like the Sega Saturn , the Playstation 2 has a handful of 2D shooters that draw in hardcore fans.
While many of the hot imports from five or six years ago have cooled down, Ibara has remained strong as the primary collectors item in the Japanese PS2 library. Check for Ibara on eBay. The game is played entirely in the first person perspective of the camera operator, and the player will lose if the camera runs out of film before the end. And much like most of the PS2-exclusive survival horror games mentioned above in the North American releases, Michigan Report from Hell has risen form relative obscurity to an item that commands some solid cash.
However, Dragon Blaze was later also released on its own as a budget range title for the PS2 in Europe in Its a polished system that needs to be practiced to be successful in the game. Check for Dragon Blaze on eBay. Ocean Commander is an odd little 2D shooter has been released on a bunch of platforms with probably seeing the biggest distribution on the Wii in a lot of regions, but only saw a PAL release on the PS2.
According to this very helpful thread on AssemblerGames , it seems like the PS2 port was released in as a budget title and possibly only in Italy. And why are they selling it in Pounds Sterling on their site? Perhaps the port was easy but the PS2 was too saturated elsewhere? There were a handful of King of Fighters games that were released on the PS2, but this is actually a rare revision that is the only physical version was also released on Xbox Live Arcade and Steam.
The best of fighting game developers are always trying to optimize balance on their new games to be best suited for enthusiasts and tournament players. Since this was a subtle change to a game that was already on the market not a bigger commercial success like Street Fighter IV or V plus additional characters , SNK kept the print run pretty low. It even comes with the cover which inside shows the controls etc. I actually have a sealed copy of Xenosaga III.
I was so wrong. I know this is 11 years old and there is absolutely no point in replying to it, but Xenosaga 1 and 3 were cool. He created awesome stories and Yasunori Mitsuda made beautiful music.
Xenogears is of course his masterpiece storywise. Probably the most common complaint i see is about the many and long sequences…….. So you would need to accept that fact first, the fact that it feels more like a movie than a game especially X2. Maybe only then you would appreciate the series more. There were many more preorders money down than there were Special Editions. Gamestop failed to instate a cut off or there was a breakdown in communication between GS and Konami over the amount of units that would be available.
To my knowledge, the Subsistence Special Edition was only released in the United States and Canada did not receive shipments at all.
Nice article on the newly-retro PS2. True, if you want to get good games for cheap, the PS2 is still a viable platform. I guess those would be the Like New to Mint condition examples.
The game itself is fun, but it has video flaws in spots and seems emulated ADX in the opening credits. The Gorilla girl in the fight demos shows an example of this. Hi I have 10 Japanese games and 1 converter for sagar mega drive I want to sell as job lot is there any serious gamers out there that will offer me a decent price also have about 15 saga games English visions not all have covers. Outrun 2 SP Japan greatly rose in value somewhere along the line.
Anybody that can help me? I could definitely use the money. I have Rule of Rose in mint condition with artwork and all.
We dive into the world of import gaming, and return with some Japan-only gems. By Bozon Updated: 15 Jun pm. Some games will never see the light of day outside of Japan, and that's just the nature of the beast. With a system like DS that's so diverse, and so widespread across every region of the world, we're bound to find odd little gems that never come to fruition, or just don't have the legs to make it to every gamer out there for one reason or another.
Some have licensing issues like the Jump Stars series, while others are just too obscure to ever get a chance in a market that's more focused on huge budgets, sequel runs, and licensed software. Nevertheless, we've found some hidden greats, and they deserve better, which is why we're featuring them in one big series here. Some games would be great for US release, some perfect for importing remember, DS has no region lock, so you can play imports with your US handhelds , and others are just too weird to ignore.
If you're looking for the best in import goodness though, you've come to the right place.
